Hall of fame

Someone rightly said that Sankalp is not just another theatre society but a pledge born out of the amalgamation of spirited minds ignited by creativity, woven together by individual brilliance and given form through the strength of collective will.

Sunil Vishnu and Karthik Kumar met as classmates in MICA and shared a common interest in theatre.  This led them to starting ‘Sankalp’, the theatre club at MICA. Renowned plays such as Girish Karnad’s ‘Tuglaq’, ‘Hayavadana’, ‘Sacrifice’, Vijay Tendulkar’s ‘Encounter in Umbugland’, Dharmavir Bharti’s ‘Suraj Ka Satwan Ghoda’ and Woody Allen’s ‘Death’ have been staged by Sankalp in the past.

Sankalp enters its 10th year this year with Vijay Tendulkar’s critically acclaimed “Silence, The court is in Session”. Sankalp has, over the years, been associated with the motto of good theatre for a good cause, and on the 10th anniversary of Sankalp, after having seen it rise to prominence as one of the most acclaimed theatre festivals in Ahmedabad, we now strive to make it an all encompassing event with the primary aim being the celebration of theatre.
